Welcome!
When you come right down to it, the secret of having it all is believing that you do. -- Author Unknown
It's really, really, finally May! Here in northern Minnesota, the sun is shining more brightly, the tulips, irises, and rhubarb are peeking through the soil (and bits of snow), and winter seems willing to take its final bow! I heard on the news last week that this past Minnesota winter has been the longest in the last fifty-or-so years. Even so, in the words of Sarah Ban Breathnach, "The month of May casts her magic spell as spring's promise is finally fulfilled."
I appreciate your visit to the Hearts & Pines website! How about enjoying a fresh strawberry and mango smoothie in a beautiful crystal glass as you browse the various areas of our site? There are items for purchase and quilting portfolios to view. We have more clubs, more kits, and other items, too, that are not on the website -- so be sure to ask if you are looking for something in particular. Also, please come back and visit often!
Do you have an embroidery machine? If so, you'll love the "Changing Seasons" quilt clubs from The Stitch Connection. There are four separate parts, and you can join any or all. Each is a three month commitment and each is beyond adorable! All four of the quilts are the same size -- 33" x 45", so you can have four seasonal quilts to display throughout the year in just one special place in your home. Start with the spring quilt, and you'll be in the swing of the season. Looking for quilting and history? We have more "Farmer's Wife Sampler" memberships, so I hope you'll consider joining! There are two versions from which to choose -- all Moda fabrics, featuring Howard Marcus Heritage fabrics or Thimbleberries classic country colors. Moda YOU Basket Bounty, Prairie School Sampler (one of my original designs), Snowman Collector Club, Quilting With Laura, Victory Quilts, and All Hearts Come Home For Christmas Club are some of our clubs that attract steady attention. Please join us for a club or two!
We have website pages devoted to my original designs and some of my longarm quilting work and awards. The longarm schedule is booked several years in advance, but if you have a special request, please inquire about the possibility of a date on the calendar when I might be able to quilt for you. Especially during the summer months, I can sometimes add a quilt if I have enough advance notice. The Hearts & Pines blog is now part of this site instead of a separate site. Besides quilting and needlework adventures from the studio, the newest Longaberger specials will be spotlighted, too.
Our online shopping process has been simplified this year. We now offer FREE SHIPPING in the USA on every order! Even with the free shipping, our prices are below retail. Checkout is easier, as the transition to Pay Pal is smooth as silk. During the secure checkout process, you may use major credit and debit cards, or your regular Pay Pal balance. We continue to welcome international customers, and it's easy to make any necessary shipping adjustments -- just contact us.
I hope you'll enjoy exploring the site and that you'll have a wonderful time with the art of quilting and needlework during the coming months! -- Karie Hougard
The ordinary arts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest. Thomas Moore
